Kennan Institute Talk
I will give a one hour presentations of photographs that I made in Novosibirsk, USSR during the Carter Detente (1978). These somewhat intimate and revealing portraits were made with a special polaroid film that yielded both the print I gave to the sitter and also a negative that I was able to get out of the USSR with my access to the diplomatic pouch. A book of those images was published in 5 countries and they have been seen at many museums including MoMA in NYC.
